Homework is a vital part of children’s learning. It helps to link learning between home and school. Research also shows that regular, planned homework gives your child a big advantage in learning over the lifetime of their education.
Homework is given to consolidate class work and does not involve new, unfamiliar skills which have not been taught. Homework will also be given to complete work that was not finished during school time. Children will sometimes be asked to carry out some research or collect information in connection with their project. This will be clearly indicated to pupils, along with our expectations for quality, effort and timings for handing in homework.
At all stages we appreciate the help given by parents. Homework advice is readily available from the school and on the parent support pages of the Glow.
