Digital Schools Award

I am delighted to say that today we received our report from Digital Schools Scotland to say that Daviot Primary has been successful in meeting the criteria to become a ‘Digital school’.

The children may remember Alan, who came out a few weeks ago to see how we were using digital technologies in the classroom. Well, Alan was indeed carrying out his inspection.  The children did remarkably well and the Technology Troopers were mentioned at various points in the report issued. Alan said they were ‘Articulate, mature, responsible and could explain the benefits and challenges of being a digital leader. A real credit to the school’

The school will receive a plaque in the next few weeks and this will be placed in the front office.  The digital logo will also start to appear on the headers of letters issued from school.

WELL DONE EVERYONE!

Cawdor Castle Photos

Class 1 had a fantastic day at Cawdor Castle. We were greeted by Sarah, who was our guide for the day. We visited the Big Wood, then were shown around the Flower Garden and Walled Garden by two of Cawdor’s brilliant gardeners Michael and Graham. After a quick snack, we got to look around the greenhouse and planted some Basil and Dahlias. Once we’d had lunch, Sarah showed us around the castle and told us about the different rooms. We ended the day with a little walk to the pond to spot some two day old ducklings! A big thank you to all the staff at Cawdor who looked after us so well and shared lots of interesting information. Thank you too to Liza and Mrs MacKinnon for being so helpful. We hope everyone has a great weekend.
