This week the Five Star Gold Award went to two of our boys.
Joshua received his award for being patient, determined and for showing perseverance when coding at the UHI STEM Hub on Friday.
Alfie was awarded his certificate for checking, saying and following his timetable with increasing confidence.
Congratulations and well done to both recipients! We’re very proud of you.

Class 2 had a great day at the STEM Hub at UHI. During the day we used TINKERCAD to create a school badge/mascot followed by CODING a musical piano using fruit. In the afternoon we made our own MAZE GAME and learned about different STEM careers. We even got to interview a research scientist during the session and stick SKILLS on him.
Thanks again to Mhairi and Evelyn for a super session.
There will be no toast at break tomorrow as the P7s are out of school.
Class 1 have worked in pairs to make their own rain gauges! We used a plastic bottle, scissors, paper clips, sticky tape, a ruler and…jelly! We’ve placed our gauges around the school grounds and are looking forward to seeing what will happen overnight. As part of our ‘Splish, Splash, Splosh’ topic, we will be exploring the water cycle and thinking about the importance of water in our weather.
Due to the weather, Class 2 were unable to visit the river to collect their clay pad from the Mink raft. However, Bob and James kindly went for us. We were delighted with the results on both the pad and from the photographs captured on the river bank.
We had great discussions about what the sightings could be and look forward to seeing more of this activity over the next few weeks. We even had a chance to play a super game in the park in the rain!
It was a great morning.
Class 2 will NOT be visiting the river tomorrow as planned due to the weather and rising water level. Instead Bob and James will visit the classroom/park area to carry out a series of activities with us instead.
ALL CHILDREN STILL REQUIRE BOOTS OR WELLIES AS WE WILL BE USING THE PARK AREA WHICH IS VERY WET.
