Food at break and lunch times

Please could we remind everyone that at Daviot Primary we do not share food at break or lunch times.

We have noticed that over the last few weeks more and more sweets have been coming into the school for break and lunch times.  We recognise that these foods are consumed within a healthy diet.  However due to allergies,  and in respect of the fact that some parents may not wish their children to be consuming sugary sweets during school time, please can we ask that children are encouraged not to share snacks within school time.

Please do not hesitate to contact a member of the school staff if you wish to discuss this further.

Class 1- Making Maths Games

Class 1 have made some fantastic games to support their learning of Basic Facts. Their objective was to make a game that would help players practise their fast recall of addition and subtraction facts to 10 and 20. The other very important factor was that their game needed to be attractive and fun. Based on the engagement and laughter heard today, I’d say mission accomplished!

Highlife Highland Disability Sport Session

As part of our topic on The Body, we were lucky to have a special visit from Fiona and Charlie from Highlife Highland.

During our PE session they took us through various games disabled/ people with an impairment play. We enjoyed Goal Ball and Boccia. The children really enjoyed learning how their other senses stepped up when other parts of the body were restricted.

Thank you so much to Fiona and Charlie. We had a great time!
