***Pancake Day***

img_1342As many people will know, it is Pancake Day next week. It has become a bit of a Daviot tradition for Mrs Mackinnon to make pancakes with the pupils to mark Shrove Tuesday. If any parents would not like their children to participate for religious reasons, please post a message on the blog or drop me an email. Thanks for your support.

***Kits and Bottles***

I’m just adding a quick post to remind parents to send children fully prepared for all physical education sessions. This week, children have gymnastics club on Tuesday (after school), PE on Wednesday morning and swimming on Thursday afternoon. Thanks for your support.

***No Skiing Tomorrow***

Unfortunately, Storm Doris wasn’t kind to us today. As a result, the Lecht have cancelled all skiing at the resort tomorrow. No bookings were available for Monday – but they said if we stay in touch with them, we may be able to reschedule our skiing trip for another day next week. As soon as I know anything for sure, I will post it on the blog. Sorry for any disappointment caused.

***Skiing on Friday***

img_2494I’m just adding quick post to remind parents that we have a provisional booking at the Lecht on Friday. Snow is forecast on the hills over the next couple of days, so I’m really hoping the trip will go ahead. I will make a final decision tomorrow – when I know for sure what the conditions are like at the ski centre. Julie is coordinating arrangements with the parents joining us on the day (thanks so much for that). If the weather is not with us, I will try to reschedule another date before we get too far into spring. Fingers crossed everyone!

Two 5 Star Gold Awards!

5 Stars for Maree for her resilience and determination during our engineering workshop yesterday. Check out the videos – they are brilliant!

5 Stars for Yvie for being super street smart. Mum and Grandma have guided her so well. She really is a wonderful example for every other pupil in every other school!

Well done, girls!

Crane Competition!

I would like to say a massive thank you to Mr Williams. He very kindly came into school today to help Class 2 with their ‘Construct a Crane’ project. The pupils had a brilliant time, and they learnt lots about levers and mechanical advantage too (check out Maree’s videos). We are all thrilled that Mr Williams will be coming back into class over the next few weeks to support us with our entry into the science competition at Eden Court in March. We can’t wait!
