This term, Class 2 will be looking at the importance of Emotional Literacy. Emotional literacy is the term used to describe the ability to understand and express feelings. It also includes being able to recognise and adapt to the feelings of other people. This helps to develop good communication skills and enhance relationships with other people. These traits underpin the teaching and learning philosophy at Daviot Primary School, so I will be trialing some new initiatives to develop these skills even further. They will include emotion fans and mood bands. I’m really looking forward to starting these initiatives with, what is already, a lovely group of children.
I really love this idea and I’m sure the children will really benefit from it!
