Team Daviot had a fascinating trip to the Next of Kin exhibition at the Inverness Museum & Art Gallery this morning. It presented a picture of Scotland during the First World War. It really was a brilliant and exceptionally worthwhile school outing. I would like to say a very special thank you to Francesca – our gallery guide – for her expert delivery. The manner she had with the children was lovely. I believe Francesca would like to be a primary school teacher in the future. I think that would be an awesome career choice! A big well done also goes out to Archie; his history knowledge was truly exceptional. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Unfortunately, the museum lighting was a bit low – so I struggled to get that many great snaps. It was still a fantastic morning!
I’m just adding a quick post to remind everyone that it is the Daviot danceathon tomorrow. For a small donation (anything will be great), the children are invited to come to school in non-uniform. I will then challenge them to dance non-stop for an hour! The pupils are welcome to bring in some of their favourite music if they wish. Mrs MacAskill is coming in at break time to sell some snacks, so I’d really appreciate it if parents could send in a few extra pennies in the morning. Any sponsorship money raised doesn’t have to be in tomorrow, but a record of a total collected would be a great help. Thanks so much for your support.
