To fit in with our topic work, I am planning to take Class 2 (P4-7) to the Next of Kin exhibition created by National Museums Scotland. It presents a picture of Scotland during the First World War through treasured objects from official and private sources, passed to close relatives and down through generations. The First World War separated millions of people worldwide from their families and homes. The impact of the conflict was felt by communities in every part of Scotland. I think the exhibition would be a very important learning experience for the pupils at Daviot Primary School. As well as the opportunity to visit this very special exhibition, our pupils have also been invited to attend a gallery session with one of the museum’s team. The trip is scheduled for Thursday 6th October (am). Permission slips will be sent out soon. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
