Well done, Shiloh! What a brilliant start you’ve made to P2. Mrs MacPherson is always telling me how impressed she is with your maturity and your effort (in every area of the curriculum). I am never surprised, but I’m always delighted – and very proud! It looks like Patch had lots of fun with you this week too. He obviously loved his trip to the dentists! With your dad in charge, I’m not surprised by that either! You are a wonderful member of Team Daviot. I will never forget that you were the very first P1 I had in school, so you will always have a very special place in my heart!
Well done, Class 1!!
- Super science, Katie!
- Stunning running, Evette!
- Excellent effort in everything, Calum!
- Enthusiastic and fantastic reading, Yvie!
For parents wishing to attend, this year’s Cross Country Championships will be held at The Bught Park, Inverness – on Tuesday 4th October. The scheduled start time is 10.30am, but competing teams and helpers must report by 10am.
Go Team Daviot!!!
I would like to remind parents that Class 2 (P4-7) will be taking part in a Roboplast workshop on Monday morning. The bus is scheduled to leave school at 9.30am. If any permission slips or photography consent forms haven’t been returned, I really need to receive them before we leave on Monday. For parents joining us on this trip, the session starts at 10am (and it concludes at 11.30am).
Location: Skills Development Scotland (1-5 Church Street, Inverness IV1 1D).
We can’t wait!
This year, PA’s Raspberry Pi competition is challenging entrants to invent under the theme of ‘Innovation for All’. The aim is to produce innovations that will improve the lives of people who have conditions that limit their ability to do things the rest of us take for granted. Inventions could range from technology which helps athletes win a medal in the Paralympics, aids visual impairment or learning difficulties, to those which uses music therapy to help mental health. PA believe this initiative will drive great innovations – from helping people with physical impairments to operate everyday IT and computers, to inventing wearable technology to enable better learning. I couldn’t agree more. I think this will be a very inspiring project indeed. Go Team Daviot!
I am just adding a quick post to let Class 2 parents know that Carol sent out three permission slips today (for next week).
- The My World of Work Digital Studio trip on Monday 3rd
- The Cross Country Event on Tuesday 4th (just the cross country team)
- The Next of Kin Exhibition on Thursday 6th
Transport has been arranged, and lunchtime arrangements will not be affected. I would really appreciate it if you could sign and return the permission slips as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please give me a call. Thanks so much.
We do lots of fun things at Daviot Primary School, but every trip to Granny Annie and Papa John’s croft is always a highlight of the school year. I would like to say another massive thank you to them for their incredible hospitality. It is no exaggeration to say that no one (pupils or staff) ever want to leave when we visit. Annie and John’s community spirit is inspirational! I would also like to say a big thank you to Angie and Rory for their photography help today. Go Team Daviot! Tatties are definitely on the menu tonight!
