What an amazing trip we had to RAF Lossiemouth today. It was such a brilliant experience for everyone – and the weather was absolutely spectacular. The Officers that guided us around the facility were magnificent too! They had so much time for the children, and they made us feel so welcome. During the day, the pupils were lucky enough to see Tornados and Typhoons up close in the aircraft hangar; we also watched them take off and land. We even saw four flying in formation right above our heads (a very rare event apparently). Our pupils were also treated to a tour of the Radar Room, MET Office and Air Traffic Control (although, I wasn’t allowed my phone on – so no pictures unfortunately). All in all, I think this was one of the best school trips ever, and I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff and Officers involved (including Flt Lt David King) for making this incredible trip possible. It was such a shame Josh couldn’t make it today. I hope he is feeling better soon, and I promise we will have lots more brilliant trips in the future.
