It was fantastic to see our two new boys playing so well together today. Lucca kindly brought his tennis set into school – and the boys were very quick to get a game going. They demonstrated brilliant teamwork and cooperation skills at break-time and after lunch. I was exceptionally impressed with them both. Well done! Andy Murray better watch out!
This is Shiloh’s picture of Me and Mrs Mackinnon getting married!! I think Mr Mackinnon might have something to say about that, Shiloh! Ha-ha.
I have sent out pupils’ home-packs this afternoon. Please remind your child/children to bring them to school every day. Mental maths tasks, for the whole class, will be set on a Monday – and should be completed by Friday. These will be quite short and should not be time-consuming at all. P5-7 will also receive a spelling list to learn on a Monday – and the test will be given on a Friday. P1-4 will be given a reading book to take home. I would be grateful if parents could read with their child/children at least once during the week and note it down in the Reading Record. Additional child specific or group specific homework may also be set. I am fully aware of the busy lives our children lead outside of school – so if more homework is set, I will ensure more time is given too (e.g. over the weekend etc.). Hopefully, this will avoid any undue stress to the pupil (or parent). Achieving the right balance with homework is always a difficult challenge. Some parents/pupils want more – some want less. Some pupils would like it during the week – some would prefer it over the weekend. This problem is also made more difficult when we have P1-7 in the same class. Hopefully, the short tasks I have set will be manageable for everyone. However, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to give me a call. Thanks for your support.
I am just adding a quick reminder about water bottles. If possible, please send your child to school with a water bottle they can keep on their desk during the day. We will keep it at school all week – and then we will send it home on a Friday afternoon. Thanks for your support.
I just wanted to add a quick note to inform all parents that PE will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays this term. If your child isn’t leaving their PE kit in school, please remind them to bring it in on those days. Thanks
