Earlier today, I drove down to see to see Kacy on her P7 transition trip at Loch Insh. Although she was mortally embarrassed by my unannounced arrival, Kacy was having a wonderful time. As well as mixing with lots of different children from other schools, she will have the chance to try a range of outdoors activities, such as windsurfing, raft building, skiing and orienteering. I would like to say a very big thank you to Mr Ross (from Holm Primary) and Mrs Robertson (from Foyers) for making me feel so welcome today. I’m thrilled you are having such a great time, Kacy, but I will be glad when you are back! See you next week.
P5 to P7 visited Lochardil Primary School today to take part in the Parliament Outreach Programme. The interactive session introduced the pupils to the democratic process and allowed them try voting on a range of issues for themselves. Rory was then nominated the leader of the School Party, and he had to read out their manifesto. I think we could have a future First Minister on our hands! I would like to say a very big thank you to Mrs Macdonald for inviting us along. I must also thank Mrs Beattie – the P5/6 teacher – for her hospitality, and Muriel Miller from the Outreach Education Service.
