Skiing Trip!

ski_lecht_pic (1)To reward pupils for their wonderful effort during the school’s Shakespeare productions, Daviot Primary School’s Parent Council are organising two skiing trips to the Lecht.

I will post more information as soon as I have it. I can’t wait!

Big thanks go to the OEC!

We had a fantIMG_1933astic visit to the Orion Energy Centre this morning. I would like to say a very big thank you to Dr Tease for showing us around the facility. He kindly let us test our first idea for the Saltire Prize in the wave tank, and  then asked us to name their Wave Energy Buoy. I thought WEBster was an awesome idea. We can’t wait to go back to test our finished device.

Gymnastics Coaching

I just waphotonted to add a quick post to remind parents that our gymnastics team have the opportunity to participate in some extra coaching with Louise on Tuesday. The session will start after school and it will last 1 hour. Children will need to be picked up from Daviot Hall at 4.15pm. Louise has offered to do the same session next week too. The Highland Gymnastics Competition is on Sunday 1st February.

Another Cold Week Ahead!

CaptureIf you didn’t see it, Daviot Primary School were on the BBC News this week. A news van turned turned up on Wednesday morning to film a report on the amount of snow that had fallen in the Highlands – forcing many schools to close. The weather forecast for the week ahead predicts more cold weather, so take care out there. I will post any important info on our blog. Stay safe.

Parent Council

I am just writing a quick post to remind everyone that we have a parent council meeting tomorrow – Monday 12th January. It is scheduled to start at 6.30, and it should last about one hour. I look forward to seeing you all then.parentcouncil2

Going for Greatness Again

photoLater this month, Daviot pupils will be providing a repeat performance of Twelfth Night for the local community. The date of the show is Friday, January 30th (7pm), at Daviot Village Hall. Obviously, it has been quite a while since the children performed the show at Eden Court, so we will need to do a few practice sessions over the next couple of weeks. Please prepare to have mini-thespians walking through your doors again!

Library Van

The Lphoto (5)ibrary Van will be visiting Daviot Primary School on the  following Thursday mornings:

15 Jan, 5 Feb, 26 Feb, 19 Mar, 9 Apr, 30 Apr, 21 May, 11 Jun and 2 July.

Please ensure all library books are returned to school for those days. Thanks.
