I just wanted to add a quick post to wish Team Daviot lots of luck for their Shakespeare production tomorrow night. I am so proud of each and every member of the class. They have worked so hard to prepare for the big night, and everyone is really excited to get on stage. The picture shows the children enjoying some special ‘end of rehearsal’ cakes from Harry Gow’s – and they really were well-earned. We hope you enjoy the show!
Daviot welcomed Fèis Rois to school this week. Fèis in Scottish Gaelic means “festival” or “feast.” It has come to mean a tuition festival, usually for children and young people, which celebrates the music and song culture connected with the Gaelic language. Our Fèis Rois tutor was so impressed with the pupils’ attitude and behaviour she decided to try some particularly challenging work. Indeed, she said she had never tried it with a class before – and yes, you guessed it, they completely surpassed her expectations. I keep telling everyone I meet… the children at Daviot are the best in Scotland!
We had a wonderful time at the Bodyworks science event this week. It was all about our amazing bodies and gave us a science show and a range of interactive exhibits. I would like to say a very big thank you to Ms Banks for inviting us to join her children for the experience. We look forward to joining Strathdearn Primary School for many other activities this year.
