Shoe Box Appeal

sbIn conjunction with Milburn Academy, Daviot Primary School is supporting the 2014 Shoe Box Appeal. It’s not difficult to choose gifts for someone who has so little.  Things we take for granted can often be luxuries for people living in desperate poverty. Boxes will go to Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Pakistan, Romania and Serbia this year. For Christmas delivery, your shoe box should be at school by Friday 7th November. I have already sent a leaflet home containing all the important information, but if you would like another, please drop me an email.

Happy Feet

mission-happy-feet1Earlier this week, we had a visit from Milburn Academy. They are running a campaign called Happy Feet. The project aims to provide orphaned children in Romania with shoes. If you have any unwanted footwear (age range 3-18), please deposit them at the school collection point in Carol’s Office.  The collection day is Friday 31st October 2014. Thanks for your support.

Wonderful Workshop

We had a wonderphoto (3)ful workshop at Eden Court on Friday afternoon, and many thanks to all the parents who came through to the theatre to pick up their children. We also had an opportunity to see the stage for the first time. It was very exciting! I am so pleased to say that, yet again, Daviot pupils were a credit to the school. The Shakespeare Company was so impressed with their attitude, effort and commitment to the play. In fact, they said that they had NEVER seen pupils pick up their lines so quickly! A fabulous achievement considering we have some very young actors and many of our children are learning more than one part. We still have lots of work to do, but I am so proud of the team. I really think this project is going to be something very special. Well done, everyone.
